Normal fiddling is on hold while I actually make some parts on the lathe.
These holes could let chips get into the electrics. This is not the lathe's fault – it came with a sheet metal shield that would have covered these but I decided I didn't need it on my custom bench.
I doubt actual experts would approve, but it works for now.
Tapping 1/4UNC-20.
The first part, as far as I can take it for now. Once the carriage is working I can face it.
